Optical spectroscopy

Our spectroscopy labs elucidate your molecular structures from the tiniest to highly complex organic molecules. We also identify and quantify the various components in mixtures with the aid of a range of spectroscopy methods such as NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and optical spectroscopy.

The services provided range from rapid acquisition of spectra to self-interpretation by the client to a complete package of fully interpreted measurements. Our analytical expertise covers virtually all areas of chemical research and chemical production involved in the improvement of synthesis, process and production steps.

NMR Spectroscopy

Applications:

  • Identification and structure elucidation of unknown compounds in various samples
  • Characterization of polymers, resins, glues, surfactants, excipients, fine chemicals etc.
  • Elucidation of the constitution and conformation of natural substances and biopolymers
  • Quantitative NMR measurements for assay of (labile) constituents

Our equipment and test methods:

  • 360 – 600 MHz NMR spectrometer for all nuclei with a magnetic moment (mainly H, C, P, N, F)
  • 600 MHz system fitted with a Cold Probe for extremely sensitive measurement of the tiniest amounts of a substance or for rapid measurement in complex NMR experiments. We also use this system to conduct HPLC/NMR online or GC/NMR offline couplings for structure elucidation of mixtures.

We employ all the latest single and multidimensional methods. We also have the facilities to perform measurements under pressure (up to 300 bar) and at variable temperatures (-120°C to 140°C). We use spectral-based structure generators for data evaluation.
