Successfully launched: Joncryl® FLX 5220

After the successful print trials (we reported in late 2015), Joncryl® FLX 5220, the latest technological evolution in water-based lamination binders, is now available.

The Joncryl® FLX line has been introduced to support the conversion from solvent- to water-based ink for film printing applications. With Joncryl® FLX 5220, a polyurethane-polyacrylate hybrid dispersion, this line is complemented. By combining the best of polyurethane and styrene-acrylate dispersions, Joncryl® FLX 5220 achieves high lamination bond strength on a broad range of substrates like OPP, PET, or OPA – in combination with very good printability, lay, and resolubility. It is specifically developed to meet the high standards for flexible food packaging and is suitable for instance for the packaging of snacks, candy, frozen items, coffee, and fatty products. All components of Joncryl® FLX 5220 are listed on the official Swiss list for printing inks that come in contact with foodstuffs. Used in water-based lamination inks for medium- to high-duty film applications, this new emulsion ensures good substrate wetting and blocking resistance as well as good compatibility with many pigment concentrates.
