In the lab: The latest
Joncryl® FLX development

Innovation never sleeps – especially at BASF. Here is the latest development in our Joncryl® FLX line.

Joncryl® FLX is known in the industry as the reference in resins when it comes to water-based inks for flexible packaging. As you read these lines, we are wrapping up the results of our new development project Joncryl® FLX 5220 at our laboratories in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, and Ludwigshafen, Germany. With this new polyurethane/polyacrylate hybrid emulsion, our chemists have achieved improved lamination bond strength in combination with good printability.

Naturally, Joncryl® FLX 5220 is compliant with food contact regulations and can be applied in medium- to high-end lamination inks. The good news: Joncryl® FLX 5220 has performed well in initial printing trials. If you like to hear more, please send an e-mail to: tanja.kuiphuis@basf.com. We are currently working on the market launch, planned for end of 2015. We’ll keep you posted!
